Our mission
Large enough for complex European operations. Local enough to respond quickly.
Underwater Solutions Group exists to keep vessels sailing, ports working and water infrastructure sound. We do the work below the waterline that others cannot easily reach, and we do it in a way that owners, insurers and authorities can trust.
What we stand for
Every underwater job, from a hull survey to a lock gate repair, deserves the same care: the right crew, the right method, honest reporting and a safe return for everyone involved.
That is the standard our five operating companies work to in every port, on every waterway, in every market we serve.
Working principles
Four commitments, on every scope
Whether the call comes from a shipowner, a port authority, a contractor or an insurer, the way we work does not change.
Safety without negotiation
No scope starts without a written method statement and a risk assessment for the structure, vessel or incident concerned. If the conditions are not right, the work waits.
Be there when it matters
Downtime costs money and reputation. Our crews and equipment stay mobilised around the clock so an owner gets a crew on site, not a call back on Monday.
Work around live operations
Berths, locks, intakes and vessels rarely stop. We plan sequencing, exclusion zones and permits with the operator so the work fits the operation, not the other way around.
Say what we saw
Findings are documented with video, photography and measurements where visibility allows, reported in one structure so owners can decide on facts instead of assumptions.
The founder
Hans Cuylits
Founder, Underwater Solutions Group
Hans Cuylits started diving commercially in Antwerp more than two decades ago, on quay walls, lock gates and vessels in one of the busiest ports in Europe. What began as a one-man diving operation grew, scope by scope, into a group of five operating companies with bases in Belgium, the Netherlands and Malta.
His conviction has never changed: underwater work is craft, not commodity. That belief still shapes the group today, from how crews are trained and supervised to how findings are reported to the client.
